Artie Reitmeyer ARTIE REITMEYER designs and builds one-of-a-kind and limited production fine furniture for residential and corporate markets.Artie’s designs are characterized by historic and contemporary architectural and cultural motifs that have been adapted, modified, and reapplied to contemporary furniture designs.

Artie hand-crafts each piece using the finest traditional and modern techniques. Wood selection is an integral part of the design/construction process.

He chooses woods sometimes for their compatibility, other times for their stark contrast, and he pays special attention to color, grain, figure, and sustainable harvesting practices when selecting each board.

A Pittsburgh native born in 1965, Artie Reitmeyer currently lives in Sewickley, PA, where he maintains a studio full time. He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received a B.F.A. Sculpture/Furniture Design in 1989.

He has been an active member of the Craftsmen’s Guild of Pittsburgh since 1992 and The Furniture Society. His work has been exhibited in numerous regional and national crafts exhibitions, invitational show and galleries, and is in the collection of the Heinz Endowments.
